Think of the forums as a “bulletin board” where you can post  anything you like—from upcoming events to personal stories to comments on today’s headlines. Once posted, others can view and make comments to the original posting, or start their own post, or “thread.” Each thread or post becomes its own line of discussion.

While anyone can view the postings, the point of the forums is for you to post there, so make sure you create a profile and post! Here’s how to get started.

PRIVACY

You can post to tridd forums anonymously. When you create a profile, just enter a “nickname” instead of your real name… it’s easy! Within seconds, you’ll be ready to start posting. Members even send emails to each other anonymously through the forum’s software, so you can send a private message without knowing the recipient’s address or giving up yours. Then, after you’re comfortable, you may choose to eventually reveal your actual email address to the recipient at your discretion.

We promise to never sell your email address to spammers, etc or to charge you a fee for this service, and you can “opt out” of the forums any time you wish.

Alternate (Optional) EXTREME PRIVACY

Here you will find a different option we are offering for those who may have special or unique concerns about posting in a “public forum.” The groups below, hosted by yahoo groups, add an additional level of security by requiring moderator approval before joining. (The forums described above don’t require approval.)

The advantage, of course, is also the disadvantage. The cost of “extra privacy” is the requirement of moderator approval — and fewer readers means fewer new friends and fewer people you have the potential to help. Still, for some people, the private yahoo groups may provide your best or only option to communicate with people who understand your position (which is why they’re here). So come on in… the water’s fine!
